• Question: Why does it matter whether the air is clean or not? Does it effect the electronics?

      Hello Tim,

      Yes it does. Sometimes I need to deposit a very thin layer of metal on top a substrate. This layer may be just 10nm thick (1/10 of your hair). So even a tiny piece of dust on the substrate would mean that when I deposit the thin layer on top, this layer would not be flat but quite bumpy instead!
      So every electronic components is usually made in clean room, where there is a lot of control on the quality of the air.
