      Hi Bayley,
      This is a very interesting question and one I am not 100% sure on the answer, but I will give it my best go. The short answer is DNA, that is what makes a human cell different from the ape cell. I think there are a few minor defferences but overall they are very similar. It is estimated that Humans share 98% of their DNA with a Chimpanzee. So what makes us and them so different. 6-7 million years ago we shared a common ancestor and as we continued to evolve DNA changes led to differences in apperance and behaviour.
