      Good question, thanks for asking me.

      There is a stage of embryo development when a blastocyst is formed. When the embryo reaches this stage is has a pocket of cells close together that form the Inner Cell Mass (ICM). It is here that the embryonic stem cells grow and through manipulation we can isolate them. There are other types of cells present in the ICM to. I hope this answers your question.
