• Question: Why does Sulphur stink?

      Hi Matt,

      elemental sulfur has a less intense smell than hydrogen sulfide (H2S), which is what you associate that horrific eggy smell with.

      Hydrogen sulfide is made by bacteria digesting organic matter in places like swamps and sewers, which is why drains smell so much!

      Hi Matt, I think Kelly gave you a great answer there. I wouldn’t have much to add expect avoid that hydrogen sulfide, it sure pongs!

      Hydrogen Sulphide – H2S. This is the ingredient they use in stink bombs !

      Maybe that’s why people run away from Shrek – he smells like a swamp!
